My good dead for the week was to call up Alan Pultyniewicz (240) 777-6480 and report both Ba Le (Rockville location) and Kensington Pizza and Kabob House (on University Ave) for failing to comply with Montgomery County Executive Regulation 109-92 which requires all businesses to recycle at least cans, bottles, paper, cardboard, and a few other things. If you are interested, the penalty for this violation is a Class B: $100 + $150 per additional day of non-compliance.

...and the fact that Americans are so myopic that they'll latch on to the Republicans. Goodbye gun control, goodbye environment, goodbye sound economics. Hello unjustified attacks, trickle down theories, and lack of personal freedoms. This, Emily, is why I want to live in a socialist society.

The US is horrible at protesting and it's not (just) because we're well off. I mean, check out the picture of this French protester. It's artwork. It's poignant. It's melodramatic. That's a main gripe I have with America. We just don't know how to stage a good protest.
